Now, onto the day. I spent the morning finishing up those pumpkin cinnamon rolls. David and Olivia made a Starbucks run for me - such sweethearts. And, Olivia had a chance to talk to her Grandma Irma {or Grannaw as she calls her} on the phone.
Here she is giving Grandma a smooch.
Now back to those cinnamon rolls. You can see the amazing pictures here and get the recipe here. They were pretty time-consuming, but definitely delicious. After much begging, we finally gave in and gave Olivia a few bites. She didn't give us much verbal feedback, but after she finished her plate, she grabbed my hand and dragged me over to the counter where the pan of rolls were. I'm thinking she liked them too! We sat and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade {and weren't really impressed} and then enjoyed a little downtime while Olivia napped.
She wouldn't share a bite.
Snuggled up and ready to watch the parade.
Of course the day wouldn't be complete without getting Olivia dressed up in her dirty Thanksgiving dress and forcing her into posing for pictures. You'll forgive me for choosing EIGHT pictures to post, right? Can't help it. She's so darn cute.
My two biggest reasons to give thanks today. Love them both so much.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
We had a delicious dinner and opted for a honey baked ham instead of a turkey. Both of us like ham better and with the 10 pounds we have left, my fingertips are already searching online for casseroles and quiches to feed my egg-loving husband. My overnight salad turned out just as wonderful as my mom's and we went easy-peasy with green bean casserole and au gratin potatoes as sides. And once this post is finished, I'm breaking into the fruit salad I made this afternoon.
And, just because I've already uploaded these pictures, I obviously must share them with you. We had a nice Skype session with my family and Olivia & I were thoroughly entertained watching my mom and brother do Beatles Rock Band. {Props to my Mama who got 100% on In My Life.}
Happy Thanksgiving from the Central Coast!

It sounds and looks like you did a great job on your first Thanksgiving dinner. I had no idea you caught me being a rock diva!!! I got to play the guitar too. I have to admit it was fun.
I LOVED Olivia's smooch! She is so precious and clearly the most beautiful little girl pilgram in the world! Glad you had a great Thanksgiving!
