Thanksgiving Weekend 2015

I can't believe that tomorrow is December 1st!  Holy smokes!  I figure I better post about Thanksgiving before Christmas rolls in.  {But, didn't I just post about Halloween?  Probably!}

Both girls had special lunches at their respective schools at the same time.  Oh how I wish I could be in two places at once, but since I couldn't, it was nice to have other moms send me pictures of what I was missing out on.  I chose to go to Sydney's Thanksgiving lunch and it was so cute.  She loved her little turkey outfit and did the craziest turkey dance for all of her classmates.  Liv was having a healthy luncheon, and I think her favorite was the cookie! :)

➹ Look at that colorful feast! ➹

➹ She lost her tooth the night before! ➹

I took the girls to the playground after school to burn off some energy....and some calories for what was to come over the next couple of days. :)

For the second Thanksgiving in a row, we decorated gingerbread houses with Sheri and Riley.  It's such a fun tradition and we were so amazed at how much more time they spent decorating this year than last year!  {Wouldn't it be nice to show the finished product?  Whoops!}

We spent Thanksgiving evening with our cousins, and ohmyword, did the girls have so much fun with their cousin Ziggy.  I wish he lived closer because the girls just loved him.

On Friday, Uncle Rhino took the girls to see the Peanuts movie again so I could get some packing done.

My mom promised Liv that if she lost her tooth before Thanksgiving, she would take her to the mall {35 minutes away} that has the carousel.   I decided to take a break from packing and we made it a little girls outing.

The girls got their picture taken with Santa, but I'm going to wait until December to post that! :)

And, to wrap up our Thanksgiving weekend, we took Liv's friend, Nathan, to see The Good Dinosaur. Apparently, they had planned on going together and she kept telling everyone that she was going with him, so I sort of had to make it happen!  They were so cute together, and the movie was adorable and sweet and heart-wrenching.  At one point, Sydney started crying and said, "He misses his family.  This movie is so sad!"

Aannnnndddd, 25 pictures later, you are caught up on our Thanksgiving weekend!  Hope yours was just as fun!

She Loves to Dance

After watching Olivia have so much fun doing her Soda Shop routine at last spring's dance recital, we decided to sign her up for a performing hip-hop team at her dance studio.  It isn't anything she had to audition for, but it did require some commitments to perform once a month somewhere.  I know that at Olivia's age, I would never have had the guts to get on stage and perform, and so as long as she is excited to do that, I want to continue to encourage that.

Since dance started in August, she has been learning a hip-hop routine to the remix version of Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" and a jazz routine to Best Summer Ever that she performed with all of the performing teams.  I'm so proud of how well she did with learning both routines in such a short amount of time.

Last Saturday was her first performance with doing two different time slots at Rock the Block.  And, boy did she rock it! :)

She was so excited to wear her dance uniform and get her make-up done! That might have been her favorite part.  ha.

After her two performances, Mom and I let the girls walk around and get some treats and have some fun in the Kid Zone.  They both deserved it for being so good!

Peanuts Weekend

Last weekend, we went to opening night of the new Peanuts movie!  Ohmygoodness!  It is such a cute movie.  I'm a sucker for the Peanuts specials, and this one was seriously the cutest of them all.  My friend Sheri turned one of my old baseball tees into a skirt for Olivia, and so all of our girls had Peanuts skirts to wear to the movie.

The pool at the new house can be heated and so we decided to give it a try last weekend.  The hot tub really warmed up and the pool got up into the high 80s.  The girls had a blast trying it out!

Olivia had dance practice one afternoon, so Poppy took Sydney fishing.  She caught her first catfish!!

Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

This is the first year since we've been living in Arizona that I didn't take my girls to Schnepf's Farm during the fall.  Luckily, Olivia went with her class on her first first grade field trip.  Somehow, I dodged a bullet and got out of going which was a little sad and kinda great all at the same time.  I know the kiddos had fun, and thankfully a couple really great moms updated me with pictures, but I was glad to escape the downpour that drenched the kids right as they were loading back up on the buses to go back to school.

I did my best to make sure Olivia had fun on the trip even though I wasn't there.  I packed her a cute pumpkin themed lunch that she was super excited about!  And, somehow, her teacher knew to put her with her best buddies.

➹ She ate both of those PB&J sandwiches! It's a miracle! ➹

See ya next year, Schnepf's!

An Alice in Wonderland Halloween

If you know us at all, you will know that this Mama Loves a Theme!  We have dressed in theme for the last 4 years and it is just way too much fun.  This year, with Poppa Peter in town, we even got to include him in the theme.

Olivia was Alice last year for her fairy tale night, so we new that we would be doing an Alice theme this Halloween.  Thanks to my friend Sheri, even I had a pretty cute costume!   We had such a fun time and got so many compliments on our costumes.

I thought we would dress up again and have someone get a picture of ALL of us together, but sadly that didn't happen.  And, I wish I had a picture of my parents because they were dressed up too!  My mom was a witch and she scared the %*^$ out of Sydney!  And, my dad dressed as a pirate!  Such a fun night -- extra fun since it was a Saturday!
